Sustainable textile designer Sindiso Khumalo has opened her flagship store in the newly renovated Longkloof Precinct in Cape Town — a fittingly historical home for a designer who looks to heritage to inform the creation of her designs.

Khumalo has had her work presented at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark, the Smithsonian National Museum of Modern Art in Washington, and the Zeitz Mocaa Museum in Cape Town, showcasing an interest in representations of black women from the turn of the 20th century. Now that she’s settled back at home, we can’t wait to see what comes out of her workshop.
