We have an interesting relationship with bees on the North Coast. For ages the green monoculture of sugar cane that was all pervasive here before urbanisation began in earnest created a fairly hostile environment for them. Bees don’t do well if they don’t have biodiversity around them, so beekeeping was not an option here.
